The painting is based upon a story someone sent me via email. 

I put a public call out on my instagram for women to tell me stories of inner transformation.

It’s about a woman who went to a fitness retreat, and was about to do a deep breathing workshop. Before the workshop she said she was extremely sceptical about it, thinking it was going to be a load of B.S. She describes what happened to her during the workshop; she felt like her body was on fire, her hands started to cramp up and she experienced a massive release which subsequently made her cry (she hadn’t cried in years). She describes having a renewed sense of energy in the weeks following the workshop.

I wanted to capture the moment of release.
Personally I am very interested in the crossover of science and spirituality, and how the mind/body connection. How an emotion can become trapped in the body, and by releasing that tension, the emotion is also released. 

Comes unframed. Prints will be dispatched flat, in a rigid hardback envelope.
